NX represented at Auckland Council Meeting

On Thursday the 24th of May 12 of the House Captains and Vice-House Captains of Northcross went to a Council Meeting in Orewa to witness first hand how Council meetings are run. We also went to deliver a presentation on what we thought could be done to make the Hibiscus Bays area a better cleaner place. In our presentation the main point was that we wanted the playgrounds improved as they are too boring and are designed by people who don’t usually use them. The Councillors seemed impressed by our presentation and had a flurry of questions for us. One of the Councillors asked, “Do you think that different playgrounds for different age groups would make it more exciting as you suggest?”  I roused the room by stating, “Yes we could do all this but we shouldn’t spend all the ratepayers money”. We learnt a lot about the procedures in Council meetings. We all really enjoyed it and it was a very memorable experience.
