When students come to study in New Zealand, schools have an important responsibility to ensure that students are well informed, safe and properly cared for. To support this, the New Zealand Government has developed the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, which replaces the 2010 Code of Practice. This new Code of Practice was released in March 2016, and applied from 1 July 2016. Northcross Intermediate School has been a Signatory to the Code of Practice since 2002.
The Code of Practice Information for Parents The pamphlet was produced for international students and their families. It is also available in other languages:
It summarises the Code and provides important information for international students and their families. It is suitable for both secondary and tertiary students as well as caregivers of younger students. These resources are available on the NZQA website.
