Dancesport Information
General Info
Dancesport lessons on offer during Term 3 - ballroom and Latin-style dancing.
Students will learn four routines: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rhythm Foxtrot, and Jive. These routines are traditionally partnered dances, therefore students will be expected to practise and perform with a partner.
Lessons are only for students with the following Dancesport experience:
- Beginner / New to Dancesport
- Participated in Dancesport in Year 7
- Studio lessons, less than one year, non-competitive dancer
- Studio lessons, more than one year, non-competitive dancer
These lessons are not for experienced studio dancers who have attended competitions as a registered or unregistered competitor. An opportunity for these dancers to participate in Dancesport at Northcross may be available in Term 4.
Practice times & venue
Lesson times: Students must be available to attend both lessons each week.
No clashes with current sporting, cultural, or academic activities.
Wednesday mornings, 7.30am-8.30am.
Friday afternoons, 3.15pm-4.15pm.
All lessons are at school, venue to be advised.
Fees
Girls and Boys: $120 per dancer
Additional costs for attending the inter-schools competition will be called for at the time.
