Dancesport Information
General Info
Dancesport lessons on offer during Term 3 - ballroom and Latin-style dancing.
Students will learn routines like Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rhythm Foxtrot, Jive, Quickstep, etc. These routines are traditionally partnered dances, therefore students will be expected to practise and perform with a partner. Boys who register will be partnered with a girl.
Lessons are only for students with the following Dancesport experience:
- Beginner / New to Dancesport
- Participated in Dancesport in Year 7
- Attends studio lessons as a non-competitive dancer
These lessons are not for experienced studio dancers who have attended competitions as a registered or unregistered competitor. An opportunity for these dancers to participate in Dancesport at Northcross may be available in Term 4.
Practice times & venue
Lesson times: Students must be available to attend both lessons each week.
No clashes with current sporting, cultural, or academic activities.
Wednesday mornings, 7.30am-8.30am.
Friday afternoons, 3.15pm-4.15pm.
All lessons are at school, venue to be advised.
Lessons will begin Week 1 of Term 3.
Fees
Girls and Boys: $120 per dancer.
Limited to 60 dancers.
Additional costs for attending the inter-schools competition will be called for at the time.
