Athlete Development Academy
At athlete development we want kiwi kids to be the most capable young people in the world when it comes to engaging with physical activity and sports.
By helping to develop kids who are robust and resilient, we allow them to avoid injury and make the most of training and games. Building confidence and independence allows kids to improve their problem-solving skills and deal with difficult situations as they arise in any setting. By growing athletic and competent movers, we allow kids to be the best they can be.

March 2026 - East Coast Bays Hockey are excited to introduce a dedicated Winter Youth Grade for Year 8–10 players. This competition offers meaningful game time, alongside professional coaching and structured skill development for players of all abilities.
Key Details:
• Competition runs throughout Term 2
• 10-week season
• Games played Sunday mornings at the National Hockey Centre, Bush Road, Rosedale
• Boys & Girls A and B Grades (no mixed gender grades)
2026 Season Dates:
• Season starts: 19 April
• Finals Day: 28 June
• No games on King’s Birthday Weekend
Trial Date:
Saturday 14 March
National Hockey Centre, Bush Road, Rosedale (Cello 1 Turf)
• Girls: 11:00am – 12:30pm
• Boys: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Eligibility:
• Open to students in Years 8–10
• Year 8 players must also play in their school’s intermediate team to be eligible for the NHHA Youth Grade Winter Competition

SnowPlanet offer a variety of options for those interested in Snow sports.

Browns Bay Racquets Club has a significant group of Junior Squash players attending the weekly Junior Club night which runs on Friday nights from 4pm to 6pm.

Marist Rugby club has teams for boys and girls aged 5–17yrs.

Rugby Training
We are Arlo Leith and Jacob Buckley, we are running a Rugby Skills Holiday Camp this April aimed at intermediate school players looking to take their game to the next level.
The sessions will focus on improving core rugby skills such as passing accuracy, tackling technique, footwork, decision making, and game awareness through structured drills and competitive game scenarios.
I captained the First XV last year and have competed at regional and national level, while Jacob is an Academy of Sport athlete and a strong leader within school rugby. We are passionate about helping developing players improve their skills and confidence.
Camp sessions will run during the school holidays:
• Wednesday 15 April — 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Friday 17 April — 9:00am-12:00pm
Spots are limited to 50 players per session to ensure high-quality coaching and individual attention.
If possible, we would greatly appreciate you including the registration link in your school newsletter or sharing it with students and parents who may be interested.

Netball - community event
Shore City is excited to invite your students to a special in-centre activation with three stars from the GoSweetSpot Mystics Netball team — Maia Wilson, Tayla Earle and Charlotte Manley.
This is a unique opportunity for students to meet professional athletes, get active, and enjoy some fun competition in a safe, supportive environment. We’d love to see your students there to cheer, shoot, and be part of the action.
