The NX Fernz (Girls) touch team is a group of all-round athletes, who are relatively new to the complex game of touch. However, with the skills they brought from their respective sports, they quickly came together as a fast, fit, and selfless team of touch players. On Zone Day, they worked hard to develop their touch skills, team cohesion, and confidence, securing victories in pool play with scores of 3-0 and 6-0. In the semi-final, we faced our old rivals, Murray’s Bay, in an intense and nerve-racking game that went to a drop-off. NX emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. The team then went on to dominate the final, achieving an impressive 6-0 victory to claim the North Harbour title and secure their place in the Auckland Championships.
