In May some of our top readers from around the school participated in the Auckland Heats of the annual Kids Lit Quiz, held at St Cuthbert’s College. The Kids Lit Quiz is a highly competitive, worldwide event which celebrates the ‘sport of reading’ with hundreds of teams involved across New Zealand alone. We are very proud of the way our teams represented Northcross.

This week we were delighted to take two teams to the Auckland Literacy Association’s Litex Competition at Diocesan School for Girls in Epsom. There were 37 teams involved from across Auckland and although we didn’t take the top spot this year, one of our teams was not far behind on a very impressive 96%. Students needed to show a wide variety of skills in English and it was a very tight race. We are immensely proud of all our students who participated.
