Northcross students. Hugo Jiao have achieved an outstanding result in the Auckland Regional RoboCup Competition, earning first place and securing their spot at the National Championships.
Hugo and Nathan competed against teams from across the Auckland region in the RoboCup Rescue Line competition, where teams design, build, and program autonomous robots to navigate challenging rescue scenarios. After months of preparation, testing, and coding, their hard work paid off with a first-place finish.
RoboCup is an international robotics competition that encourages students to develop skills in engineering, programming, problem-solving, and teamwork. Competitors must create robots capable of completing complex tasks without human control, requiring both technical knowledge and creativity.
The pair will now represent Auckland and Northcross at the National Championships, where they will compete against some of the best robotics teams from around New Zealand.
The school congratulates Hugo and Nathan on their achievement and wishes them the best of luck as they prepare for the next stage of competition.
