Thursday the 23rd of July saw 122 students from Northcross descend on Long Bay for the annual school cross country. The clouds parted and the sun shone through for what was a great day for running. 

First up were the year 7 girls. 1st place went to Kyra Geens with a time of 16:17, second going to Allie McKinnon and third to Claire Li.

Next up were the year 7 boys with Fletcher Bayes-Powell taking the win with a time of 15:57, second going to Willem Oosthuizen and third to Declan Turner.

The year 8 girls were next with Mia Chen taking first place with a time of 16:56, second going to Daisy Yang and third to Ella Gao. 

Finally it was the year 8 boys race with Harley Stanton finishing first with a blistering time of 14:51 followed by Flynn Bayes-Powell in second and Luke Wessels in third. 

Congratulations to the podium finishers and congratulations to all the runners who competed in what was a great day for Northcross. Our top ten runners in each year went on to compete in the North Harbour Cross Country Race held in early August.

We had a number of top ten finishers and two of our runners in the top 5; Kyra 3rd in the Y7 Girls and Fletcher 4th in Y7 Boys.
