The Chess Power Cluster Day at Northcross took place on the 23rd May. Northcross students competed against their peers from Albany Junior and Murrays Bay. They all played seven rounds each and had some very close games with the timer rapidly counting down. Individually our Northcross Students took out the top three placings with Justin Wang 1st, William Liu 2nd and Rex Chen 3rd. These three players won all three of their games. Tiffany Zhang also took out the placing for top female chess player in the tournament.

In the overall results for the teams, Northcross Team One (Justin Wang, William Liu, Rex Chen, Hunter Pou, Maximilian Fang, Veda Chen, Tiffany Zhang and Ethan Sun) came 1st and Team Two (Charlie Jiang, William Xie, Jason Zhang, Daniel Kulakov, Oscar Wang, Noah Ledwich and Owen Li) placed 3rd.The win has qualified a team for the next event. Congratulations to all of the 32 Northcross Chess Representatives.
